ISLAMABAD: Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, a former prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, was arrested by the Islamabad police late on Sunday evening.
The arrest was made by the Margalla Police in connection with the FIR lodged by a member of the previous premier’s household for “forceful entry and firing in [the] household property”.
In keeping with the FIR, Mr Ilyas, Aneel Sultan, Muhammad Ali and 25 others broke into the workplace of Pak Gulf Development firm located in Centaurus Mall.
Mr Ilyas was shifted to the Margalla Police Station. His spokesperson stated police scaled the partitions of the previous PM’s home to arrest him.
An Islamabad police spokesperson stated all formalities have been fulfilled earlier than making the arrest.
