Brent North Sea Crude rose 1.1 per cent to $84.03 per barrel, whereas West Texas Intermediate added 2.6pc to $79.72 per barrel.
In the meantime, Wall Road had a combined day as traders returned from the three-day Memorial Day weekend.
European shares lacked course to finish within the crimson, with London’s FTSE 100 index closing down 0.7pc after its lengthy weekend, regardless of grocery supply platform Ocado hovering virtually 10pc on a raised analyst outlook.
